The ones that come up at the desk

Questions people actually ask

These are taken from the desk book, not invented to fill a page.

Is there a lift

No. The attic rooms are up a steep stair that turns twice, and the ground-floor rooms are the ones to ask for if stairs are a problem. Three of the eleven are on the ground floor.

Can we arrive late

Yes, but ring from the road. Mobile coverage stops about a kilometre out, so ring before you turn off the highway. After nine the front door is locked and somebody has to come down.

Is breakfast included

Yes, and it runs from half past seven with no sitting. Dinner is separate and you tell the desk by three if you want it.

Do the rooms have televisions

No, and there is no socket placed for one. The reading room off the hall has the only screen in the building and it is not often on.

Is there anywhere to dry things

The boot rack and hooks behind the side door, and a rail in the pool room that runs warm. In a wet week the rail is the better one and it fills by five, so hang things early.

Can we bring a dog

In the three side door rooms, yes. Not upstairs, and not in the dining room at seven. The deck is fine.

What is the gaming room and can we see it

It is a room on the ground floor of this building, four evenings a week, for 19 and over with identification at the door. If you are 19 or over you can walk down and look. There is a page about it in the menu.

Do you take bookings on the site

No. The site has no booking system and no payment of any kind. Ring the house or write, and we will answer the same day.

Play happens in one room of this building and nowhere else. No bets are taken online, no accounts are held, and no money moves through this site.
