Opens at four, closes before the kitchen does
The counter
Eight stools, a shelf cut into the stone wall, and no music.
The counter is in the room that was the crews' mess, which is why the wall behind it is stone and the rest of the house is timber. The shelf is cut straight into that stone. When they cut it they found the wall was thicker than the drawings said, so the shelf is deeper than it looks and the back row of bottles is hard to reach.

Hours and the reason for them
Four until eleven. The counter stops serving before the kitchen finishes clearing, and earlier than the gaming room downstairs closes. That order is deliberate and it is the same order every night.
- Eight stools and four small tables
- Open from four, last drink at eleven
- No music, and no screen
- Local beer, a short wine list, and tea at any hour
What is not here
No television. People ask. The honest reason is that the room is small enough that one screen would decide what everyone in it was doing, and we'd rather the room stayed undecided.
